Olamide, the award-winning Nigerian rapper, has been listed among Billboard’s ‘2025 global power players’.

The list which was released recently recognises influential figures shaping the global music landscape.

The ‘Goons Mi’ hitmaker earned the spot for his impact and leadership as the head of YBNL, the label behind Nigerian stars like Asake and Fireboy.

Speaking about the feat, Olamide explained that his label expanded its global presence through international collaborations that bridge Afrobeats with broader audiences, positioning YBNL as a key player in the global music scene.

“YBNL Nation has made significant strides in expanding our global footprint and solidifying our presence in key international markets,” he said.

“Collaborations with international artists and producers have helped bridge the gap between Afrobeats and other genres further establishing our label as a key player in the global music scene.”

Yahoo Boy No Laptop (YBNL), founded by Olamide in 2012, has served as a launchpad for several Nigerian music stars including Asake, Lil Kesh, Adekunle Gold, Temmie Ovwasa, Chinko Ekun, and currently Fireboy DML.

In August 2023, Olamide revealed that he formally ventured into the music business and established the label as a way to curb excessive spending.

Asake recently parted ways with YBNL and established his own label named Goran Republic.
